Hi, I’m Sylvia Elliott, an undergraduate psychology student with a background as a pastry chef. That experience gave me a real appreciation for the care and creativity in working with food.
Later, I had the privilege of leading culinary workshops and life skills programs for at-risk youth. It was rewarding to see how baking helped people connect, build confidence, and feel a sense of accomplishment. Personally, I’ve also found that on tough days, the simple act of baking can be a real form of self-care, offering a bit of comfort and calm.
Through these experiences, I’ve come to strongly believe in the power of baking to support our well-being and strengthen our relationships, even making those hard days a little bit better. My journey from the kitchen to studying the mind offers a unique perspective on the human experience.
